Was Serra Tumay With Myles Garrett During the Car Accident?

In September 2022, the couple was involved in a car accident after swerving to avoid a wild animal.

While many online sources initially reported that Myles Garrett’s girlfriend, Serra Tumay, was with him during his 2022 car accident, that was not the case. The accident actually involved another woman, 23-year-old Yiana Tjotjos.

On September 26, 2022, Garrett was driving his Porsche 911 Turbo S in Sharon Township, Ohio, when he lost control of the vehicle. According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, he was speeding at 65 mph in a 45 mph zone when his car veered off the road, hit a ditch and a fire hydrant, and flipped multiple times before coming to a stop.

Both Garrett and Tjotjos were taken to Akron General Hospital. Garrett suffered a sprained shoulder, a strained bicep, and several lacerations, while Tjotjos was treated for minor injuries, including a head injury.

This wasn’t the first time Garrett had been caught speeding. Reports revealed that he had received six prior speeding citations since joining the NFL, including one instance where he was clocked at 120 mph on Interstate 71 in 2021, followed by another ticket the very next day for driving 105 mph.

Despite the severity of the crash, Garrett recovered quickly and was back with the Browns just days later. However, the incident put a spotlight on his driving habits and raised concerns about his safety behind the wheel.
